Mother Joye

Favorite of Joye edited2

The voice that whispers out of sight
Illuminates my days
And wakes me softly in the night
But seldom ever stays
Beyond the opening trembling eyes
That yearn just once to see
The blue that puts to shame the skies
Looking back at me
A touch, a smile, an arching brow
Most of all the laughter
To fill the emptiness of now
The ache of ever after
She’s with me, it is said, always,
And I suppose it’s true
Her life a melody that plays
In all I say and do
But I would trade the lot away
To have her here with me
For just one shining brilliant day
To sit with me and see
The woman she helped me become
The written words I’ve shared
The precious treasures that have come
Adventures that I’ve dared
Yet even as I write these lines
I cannot help but smile
Through vast and cosmic Time’s designs
I had her for a while
At Unity the tree that blooms
Her fragrance now will bear
Whatever shape my life assumes
My heart is growing there

About suzanawylie

Suzana Wylie is the not-very-pseudo pseudonym of Susan Wylie Wilson, because let's face it, there are lots of Susan Wilsons around, and as an author, I want readers to find ME and not the bazillions of others. I've been writing all my life - since I learned to hold a pencil anyway - and can't NOT write. Other people have to breathe to live; I have to write.
