Where Words End

Where the Words Stop

There in the land where all words end
Mute and hollow faces lie
Waiting for the world to mend
Void stares out barren eyes
The broken gods from long ago
Impotent and headless stand
No longer promise quid pro quo
Deaf to supplicants’ demands
Mute answers only all they give
To questions ringing still
In those hearts where yet they live
And none can know their will
Strapped with bronze that round them bends
Closing heads and closing minds
There in the land where all words end
Silence the seeking eye blinds.

About suzanawylie

Suzana Wylie is the not-very-pseudo pseudonym of Susan Wylie Wilson, because let's face it, there are lots of Susan Wilsons around, and as an author, I want readers to find ME and not the bazillions of others. I've been writing all my life - since I learned to hold a pencil anyway - and can't NOT write. Other people have to breathe to live; I have to write.
